Our client pursued permanent residence as the spouse of an EB-2 National Interest Waiver principal applicant. His wife, a pediatric dentist and academic leader whose work centers on dental genetics, inherited enamel disorders, and pediatric oral health, had previously received approval of her EB-2 NIW Form I-140 petition through our firm.
With the immigrant petition approved, the family proceeded to the adjustment of status stage in the United States. As the derivative spouse, our client filed Form I-485 based on the same approved EB-2 NIW immigrant category, allowing his permanent residence application to move forward together with the principal applicant’s case.
USCIS approved his Form I-485 application, granting him lawful permanent resident status in the United States. The approval marked the successful completion of his derivative adjustment of status process and formed part of the family’s broader transition from an approved EB-2 NIW petition to permanent residence.
