Our client’s spouse obtained E-2 treaty investor status after establishing and investing in a Florida car rental and vehicle-sharing company. Our firm developed the principal E-2 case around a documented $90,000 investment, a six-vehicle operating fleet, and evidence showing the development and management of an active U.S. enterprise.
Following the approval of her spouse’s E-2 petition, our firm also handled our client’s Form I-765 application as an E-2 dependent spouse. The application was filed under the (a)(17) category applicable to qualifying spouses of E nonimmigrants and documented her eligibility in connection with her spouse’s approved E-2 status.
USCIS approved the Form I-765 application and issued an Employment Authorization Document. The approval complemented the family’s successful E-2 immigration strategy, allowing the principal investor to continue directing the U.S. business while his spouse held documentation of her employment authorization in the United States.
