After the principal applicant obtained E-2 treaty investor status, the family’s immigration process continued with separate dependent applications for his spouse and children. Because each family member required an appropriate classification based on the principal investor’s status, our firm prepared the related filings as connected but individually adjudicated cases.
For this child, we pursued E-2Y classification through Form I-539, relying on the qualifying parent-child relationship and the principal applicant’s approved E-2 status. The filing formed a distinct part of the family’s overall E-2 strategy, alongside the E-2S application prepared for the investor’s spouse.
USCIS approved the Form I-539 and granted E-2Y status from April 13, 2026 through February 24, 2028. With this approval, another member of the family obtained the proper dependent classification connected to the principal investor’s E-2 status, helping bring the family’s related U.S. immigration filings into alignment.
