This approval was part of a coordinated E-2 immigration process for a family whose principal applicant had already secured E-2 treaty investor status in the United States. Following the principal investor’s approval, our firm also handled the related dependent filings so that each family member could obtain the immigration classification corresponding to the principal E-2 status.
For the couple’s child, our firm filed Form I-539 requesting E-2Y dependent status. The application established her eligibility as the child of the principal treaty investor and connected her requested classification to the underlying E-2 status already held by her parent.
USCIS approved the application and granted E-2Y status from April 13, 2026 through February 24, 2028. The approval allowed the child to maintain a status specifically tied to the family’s E-2 immigration framework while the principal investor continued his activities in the United States.
