This case concerned the adjustment of status of the child of an approved EB-2 National Interest Waiver principal applicant. The child’s mother, a pediatric dentist, professor, and academic leader, had previously obtained approval of her EB-2 NIW immigrant petition based on her professional and academic work in pediatric dentistry, dental genetics, and medical education.
Following the I-140 approval, the family advanced to the final stage of the permanent residence process. As the principal applicant’s derivative child, our client was eligible to pursue adjustment of status through Form I-485 together with the rest of the family.
USCIS approved the child’s Form I-485 application, granting lawful permanent resident status in the United States. The approval ensured that the child’s immigration process progressed together with the principal applicant’s EB-2 NIW case and completed another component of the family’s coordinated path to permanent residence.
