Our client’s spouse previously obtained E-2 treaty investor status after establishing and investing in an Illinois vehicle rental business serving Naperville and the greater Chicago area. Following that approval, our firm handled the related dependent status applications for her family.
As the spouse of the principal E-2 investor, our client obtained E-2S status, while their daughter obtained E-2Y status as the dependent child. The applications kept the family’s immigration classifications aligned with the principal investor’s approved E-2 status.
USCIS approved both Form I-539 applications, granting E-2S status to our client and E-2Y status to his daughter while the principal applicant continues directing the family’s U.S. business.
