Our client is a Ph.D. physicist and senior materials and conditioning engineer whose professional background combines advanced scientific training with specialized engineering experience. Our firm previously represented her in an EB-2 National Interest Waiver petition, which resulted in approval of her Form I-140 based on her qualifications and proposed professional contributions in the United States.
Following the approval of her EB-2 NIW petition, she continued through the permanent residence process by pursuing adjustment of status in the United States. As part of that process, our firm prepared and submitted her Form I-765 application for employment authorization under the (c)(9) eligibility category, which applies to qualifying applicants with a pending adjustment of status application.
USCIS approved the Form I-765 application and granted employment authorization, allowing our client to work in the United States while her adjustment of status process continued. The approval is another step in a broader immigration strategy that began with her successful EB-2 NIW petition and continued through the adjustment stage toward permanent residence.
